This seem to be commonly perceived as a problem in the majority of main stream schools. Teachers are so busy to cover all the teaching within a pre-defined period and thus any students that are causing a delay is considered as uncooperative or troublesome.
On the other hand, parents should be able to explain to their child the difficulties of the teachers and suggest ways to get around the conflict. For example, is the timing right to ask questions? Can the questions be written down and be asked later on, e.g. email, handbook, even on a piece of paper. Clearly, the teacher will need to cooperate and willing to assist in order this will work.
If the child is way above the level of others in his/her class, is it possible to talk to the school to find him/her another class? Not sure if this is possible in Hong Kong.
It would be a pity for a talented child to be discouraged in asking questions and proactive learning.作者: simonchou 時間: 2010-3-19 05:41
