Hi, I hope you all can read my message because I can't type Chinese, so sorry. My suggestion to you would be teaching children the word "GRATITUDE". HK is a very materialistic city, toys, games, playground, parents are also very generous towards children in providing many things they want, but it is a never ending story. I am a yoga teacher for kids, and gratitude is one big word that I teach the kids to appreciate the things they've got, besides love and compassion. I always remind my 4 & 2 yrs. old that they should be "happy with what they've got" already. FOCUS to "have" rather than "not have". I remind them how many toys, clothes, trips to disneyland, etc, and how lucky they are. I took them to Mongolia for holiday, living in the tent, with little water for bath, and the children there play with almost no toys but animal bones. Everytime I remind them, my children don't ask me to buy anything anymore. I even ask them to donate toys to our helper at home to learn love and compassion.作者: cc315315 時間: 2009-9-30 14:52
Thanks a lot for your sharing, s0902738.
You are really great by taking your kids to Mongolia when they are only 2 &4. I dare not take my son there at the moment, but will definitely try it out later on.作者: s0902738 時間: 2009-9-30 15:23
I have to say we are very thankful for having someone there who can arrange things for us. my son was actually only 1.5 yrs old at that time. It was really another kind of traveling experience. We all learn to appreciate the quietness and peaceful being in the middle of no where for 5 days, appreciating the nature with animals running around and beautiful mountains. Amazing experience for the whole family. BTW, never underestimate the capability of adaptation of a child, they can do better than us. I think 5 is already a good age for that kind of traveling experience, children learn from nature and learn survival skills in this kind of environment (Howard Garner's natural intelligence) if you don't mind I say this.... it is actually more of the parent's problem then the kids because we are too nervous or too fearful. Don't you agree? Hopefully you have a chance to try it out someday.... i can give you info if you need.haha!作者: cc315315 時間: 2009-9-30 16:16
Yes, can you send me information about that kind of trip.
I am thinking to have a trip after P.1 application.
Thank you so much.
I love traveling too. I always want to bring my son to Tibet as I went there 8 years age, and had wonderful experience in the climate there.作者: s0902738 時間: 2009-9-30 17:05
